Veterans Day Weekend - Sunday

Mandy surprised Tim, myself, Gene and Barb with
COLTS tickets this weekend! So the 5 of us headed to the game decked out in our Colts gear (Ok, it was actually ALL borrowed from Mandy :), and saw the Colts (now 9-0) beat the Buffalo Bills. This was Barb and my very first NFL game and it was a GREAT experience (mainly because there weren't too many annoying - a.k.a drunk - people around us, we had fantastic seats - way to go Mandy! - and the Colts play in this nice little place called the RCA DOME - 'dome' being the key word here). Definitely a great time!

Veterans Day Weekend - Saturday

Saturday afternoon, our friends Rob and Greta Knight had a baby shower for their new addition due December 1! So it was a fun time for Tim to see his 'boys' and for me to hang out with the girls. Greta got lots of great 'beach baby' gifts and it was easy to see that they're both SO excited to become parents (not to mention how exicted their parents are to become grandparents!)

Then we headed out to celebrate Tim's sister Mandy's 29th birthday! We had a fun supper with some of Tim's cousins at Joe's Crab Shack. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY! (you'll always be our 'rockstar cheerleader'! :)

Saturday, November 11, 2006

In 1918, it began with the signing of the Armistice to end World War I - on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month. And since 1954, that day has become more commonly known as Veterans Day.

I take this post to give a sincere - yet, extremely inadequate - Thank You to our Veterans.

Thank You as well to all those who are currently serving our country at home and abroad.

May we never take for granted the freedom your service and sacrifices have given to us.

It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you. ~Dick Cheney
