The BMV... Indiana Style

Ok, I know this is silly, but I just had to share...

Just one of the things I've learned since moving to Indiana is that your lisence plates expire by alphabetical order, by your last name - and since we're B's, we fall in February. This is unlike Ohio where your plates expire every year on your birthday - which I personally think is a much better system :) BUT where Indiana has Ohio beat is on their completely fantastic choice of plates.

Awhile ago I had an email forward saying that a new "In God We Trust" plate was going to be issued in 2007. Sure enough - this plate is now a choice at NO extra cost! Then for a small fee (that supports the Military Family Relief Fund) we also got the new "Support Our Troops" plate for the other vehicle. So goodbye green and blue grasses - hello bold and fun tags :)

More than Just Valentines "Day"

On Valentines Day one year ago... Tim and I found ourselves in the home of a real estate agent, staring at all the mountains of paperwork in purchasing our first home. The couple whose home we were about to buy was also there - a couple that we had just met at our new church and whom we knew only by first names. After a L-O-N-G evening (and anyone who's boughten a house knows this), the agent (and his wife) reminded us all that it was Valentine's Day - and proceeded to take us all out to supper - to a little restaurant on a lake, at midnight.

On Valentine's Day this year... Tim and I are celebrating in our "new" house. In fact, we spent Valentine's evening in the same church - at our Men's & Women's Bible Study. And the couple who we bought the house from... they're now great friends of ours - and Tim called them just last night to wish them a happy one-year "anniversary" :)

Men of the Month

Some pretty special guys in our family all celebrated their birthdays in the fist few days of February. A Happy Birthday to our nephew Ethan (the Big THREE!), our brother-in-law Mike (Ethan's daddy) and to Dad Bontrager.

January

Since my last post was from CHRISTMAS... thought I'd kind of "catch-up" on January...

Got the electrical and insulation installed in the basement and have now started putting up dry-wall (Tim and his dad, that is).

Back at college with my sister, Kendra. Spent some time down at Huntington with her, chilling and watching her play ball.

And doing what a lot of people in our neck of the woods have been doing... digging ourselves out of the dumping of snow we got here the last few weeks of the month.
